Course content:
Our Fish Welfare Course refresher provides an update on the most important topics in fish welfare, with a focus on practical methods to ensure fish health and welfare. You will receive a review of relevant laws and regulations, as well as an advanced understanding of fish biology and physiology.
The following topics will be reviewed, among others:
- What is animal welfare?
- Fish biology and physiology
- Laws and regulations
- Stress and coping
- Stunning and killing
- Relevant legislation and regulations
Target group:
Our fish welfare refresher course is designed for people who have already completed a fish welfare course and need to renew their certificate of competence. This includes farm managers, farmers, slaughterhouse personnel and transporters of live fish. The course is for people over 16 years of age who will be working at an aquaculture facility.
Practical information:
Our fish welfare course refresher course is online and gives you the flexibility to learn when and where it suits you. The estimated duration is 8 hours, and during the course you will be given assignments that must be answered continuously. The course ends with an exam, and upon passing the exam you will receive a certificate of competence that is valid for five years.
