Occupational health and safety course 2 – Mandatory course for those responsible
Work safety training course 2 is a legally required course for anyone responsible for work on or along roads. The course also applies to those who are responsible for preparing, approving or checking work safety plans. After completing the course, you will receive a valid certificate of competence approved by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.
Why take the Work Alert course 2?
All workers who perform work on or near roads must have up-to-date training in work safety. The course provides you with the necessary theoretical platform and practical understanding to ensure the safety of both workers and road users.
A certificate of competence is valid for 5 years. If more time has passed since the previous course, you must renew your competence in order to continue working legally as a responsible person.
This is what you will learn in the Work Alert course 2
The course gives you a thorough introduction to laws, regulations and practical matters related to working on or near roads. You will learn about, among other things:
- Laws and regulations for working along the road
- Sign Regulations Chapter 14
- Digging and work permits
- Preparation, approval and control of work safety plans
- Risk assessments and safe job analysis
- Purpose and use of different types of notification
- Requirements for warning equipment
- Security methods and when to use them
- Workplace and traffic safety requirements
- Accessibility for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers
- Control, follow-up and sanctions
Practical information about the course
- Duration: 2 days (includes Work Alert course 1).
- Implementation: Digital classroom / in real time online (webinar)
- Certificate of competence: Available from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration after passing the test.
- Validity: The certificate of competence must be renewed every 5 years.

How long does the webinar last?
The webinar lasts 2 days (digital classroom), a total of 12 hours + breaks.

Is evidence from the Swedish Public Roads Administration included?
Yes.
Included in the course price is a certificate from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.
Is there VAT (value added tax) on this course?
No, there is no VAT on this course. Since it is conducted as a webinar – i.e. teaching directly with an instructor over the internet – it is exempt from VAT.
When will the invoice arrive?
The invoice will be sent to you directly after registration.
What is included in the price?
The course fee includes:
- digital and possibly physical course material
- examination and issuance of a certificate of competence, which is valid for five years from the date of issue
How is the webinar conducted?
The webinar is conducted in real time over the internet. All you need to participate is a PC.
Do I have to complete Work Safety Course 1 before I start Work Safety Course 2?
Work notification course 2 is an extension of course 1.
This means that you do not need to take Work Safety Course 1 before you take Work Safety Course 2.
If you are going to take the Work Alert course 2, you start straight away at course 2.
