Fire prevention regulations require that all employees and managers receive fire safety training and conduct regular fire drills that are proportionate to the risk. The regulations set requirements for how such drills are planned and carried out based on the company's fire and evacuation plans. There are also requirements for documentation of drills conducted.
GTM Kompetanse offers assistance and training in connection with fire and evacuation drills to all businesses that are required to hold such drills. This applies to, for example, kindergartens, nursing homes, schools, treatment institutions, shopping centers and apartment complexes. There are no requirements for prior knowledge to participate.
Exercises raise awareness and update staff regarding instructions, correct behavior patterns in the event of fire and evacuation, and the importance of everyone being prepared for their task when a situation arises.
To ensure your business meets the national requirements from the authorities, GTM Kompetanse can assist with the following:
- Complete plan for the exercise
- Objectives of the exercise
- Contact and coordination with public agencies
- Conducting the exercise
- Evaluation
- Written summary of the exercise to ensure the business meets the documentation requirements
The exercise is conducted by skilled instructors with the ability to teach in a simple, interesting and engaging way. In addition to the basics, the content can be tailored to the individual customer's wishes and needs based on the knowledge level of the employees, the number of people to be evacuated, whether there are bedridden patients, fire instructions and escape routes.
GTM Kompetanse can, for example, offer evacuation exercises combined with firefighting exercises, fire theory and first aid training.
Practical information:
A typical exercise usually lasts about 3 hours, but this can vary and be adapted. The company receives a written report on the exercise held to meet the requirements for internal control. Unless otherwise agreed, GTM Kompetanse provides the necessary equipment for carrying out the course.

For in-company courses, suitable premises must be available for the theoretical part, as well as suitable space for carrying out the practical training.
Necessary equipment for the practical part is generally provided by the customer. On some courses we bring all necessary equipment. If we bring equipment by agreement, this may result in a price increase.
Participants must also provide personal protective equipment if the course requires it (for example, helmet, safety shoes or fall protection equipment).
