Implementation: Theory + practical exercises

A requirement from Norwegian authorities. The Fire Protection Act with regulations and HSE legislation require that all employees in "special fire facilities" must have training in preventive fire protection and firefighting. It is the employer's responsibility to be able to document that the employees have the necessary knowledge.

Fire protection course – theory and practical exercises

GTM Kompetanse is pleased to offer basic fire safety courses for all businesses that are required to have fire safety training. This applies to, for example, kindergartens, nursing homes, schools, treatment institutions, shopping centers and rental complexes. There are no requirements for prior knowledge to participate.

The duration and scope of the course is tailored to your company's needs. It normally consists of a theoretical and a practical part.

In the theoretical part, the following topics are discussed:

  • Laws and regulations
  • The necessity of fire protection work
  • Fire theory
  • Introduction to extinguishing agents
  • Organizational and technical fire protection measures
  • Attitudes and motivation

Practical exercise

The practical part will consist of firefighting exercises. Here, course participants will receive various demonstrations, in addition to practicing putting out fires themselves with a fire extinguisher and fire blanket.

In addition to courses in Norwegian, we can offer English-language courses upon request.

By purchasing this course, you agree to our terms and conditions .

Practical information

For in-house courses, we bring all the necessary equipment to carry out the practical firefighting exercise.

The only thing we require from you is that there is a safe place for the exercise – for example, an open area with good ventilation, without flammable materials, and not near cars, buildings or other objects that could be damaged.

If you have a projector with a screen and a whiteboard available, this is an advantage, but it is not a requirement.

You book in-house courses by contacting us directly by email or phone. Together we will agree on a time, location and any practical needs, so that the course is tailored to your company.

You will receive an invoice from us well in advance of the course start. The invoice must be paid no later than 2 days before the instructor arrives at your address.

The course will not be held if the course fee has not been paid. In the event of non-payment, the claim will still be collected.
