Drug and Chemical Use in Aquaculture – Online Course for Aquaculture Facilities

Our drug and chemical use course provides important expertise for the safe handling of chemicals and drugs in aquaculture operations. The course covers the requirements of the aquaculture operation regulations and provides the necessary knowledge to assist fish health personnel with medication of fish.

Course content:

The course provides a thorough introduction to the safe use of pharmaceuticals and chemicals, covering topics such as legislation, HSE, and chemicals used in fish farming. You will learn about disinfectants, detergents, and other relevant chemicals.

The following topics will be reviewed, among others:

    • Laws and regulations
    • Drugs and medication
    • HSE and safety procedures
    • Chemicals in fish farming
    • Disinfectants and detergents

    Target group:

    The course is for personnel at fish farms who will assist veterinarians or animal health personnel with the handling of chemicals and drugs when medicating farmed fish.

    Practical information:

    The course is conducted online, so you can learn when and where it suits you. It consists of continuous assignments and ends with an exam. Upon passing the exam, you will receive a certificate of competence that is valid for five years.

    After we have received the participant information, participants will have access to the course within 30–40 minutes. Username and password will be sent continuously.

    Practical training

    Some of our online courses also require the participant to complete practical training after completing the theory course.

    For documented training, it is required that the person providing the training has the same or equivalent course. This person must also document the practical document that belongs to the online course.
