Norwegian authorities require that employees who will work on a pole or mast can document annual repetition and practice in abseiling. It is the employer who is responsible for ensuring that the employee has the necessary training. The "annual abseiling course" provides repetition and practice for people who have previously documented training in entering a pole or mast. The course has been prepared to satisfy the requirements of §7 of the "Regulations on safety during work in and operation of electrical installations", and this is the basis for carrying out the course and practice in abseiling a person in distress.
The following topics will be reviewed, among others:
- Laws and regulations
- Equipment control
- Safe Job Analysis (SJA)
