Practical information
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS
All participants must be able to swim 200 meters to participate in the course.
Lifesaving courses and lifesaving tests can be conducted both in the pool and in the sea, and participants must bring swimwear.
If someone is reluctant to dive to the deepest part of the pool, the dive can be conducted in shallower water, and participants will be certified according to this level.
Requirements for premises and equipment
For our water lifesaving course, we provide all necessary course materials and instructors.
The customer must ensure that there are suitable facilities for the course, including a pool or access to the sea, and that the area is safe and suitable for practical exercises.
Participants must have swimwear available, and there should be an area with space for the theory part of the course, such as a meeting room or similar.
How long does the course last, and can it be adapted to our working hours (e.g. evenings or weekends)?
The course lasts 5 hours.
We adapt to your work schedule and can hold courses during the day, evenings or weekends – whichever suits your employees and operations best.
Do you offer courses at our workplace, or do we have to come to you?
We are coming to you!
Our instructors hold courses directly at their own premises to make it as practical and effective as possible for you.
Alternatively, you can also participate in our open courses if you wish.
Do participants receive a course certificate after completing the training, and is it valid according to requirements from the Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority or the Norwegian Directorate of Education?
Yes, all participants receive a certificate after completing the course.
We only use certified instructors on our first aid courses, and all of our first aid courses, including first aid courses for kindergarten employees, are designed in line with the guidelines from the Norwegian First Aid Council and meet the requirements of both the Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority and the Norwegian Directorate of Education.
How many participants can be on the course at the same time?
We recommend a maximum of 15 participants per course group to ensure quality, individual follow-up and good practical training.
For larger groups, we can divide the course into several parts or assign multiple instructors.
Who are the instructors – do they have relevant experience from the healthcare sector?
For our first aid courses, we only use certified instructors through the Norwegian Resuscitation Council (NRR) and the Norwegian First Aid Council (NFR).
The instructors have extensive experience in first aid, many with backgrounds in ambulance, nursing and emergency medicine.
We always adapt the training to the target group.
Do you offer discounts or special prices for groups or multiple departments?
Absolutely!
When booking together for multiple departments or for 20+ participants, we offer discounted group prices and favorable package deals.
We also offer extra good prices to municipalities or chains that want a framework offer.
How is training carried out in water?
The course provides participants with thorough training in lifesaving, with a focus on both prevention and practical handling of emergency situations in water.
Participants learn self-rescue and flotation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for both children and adults who have drowned, as well as towing and diving techniques for safe handling at the surface. Participants also receive training in landing, rescue techniques from panicked swimmers, and jump rescue.
The course concludes with the completion of the lifesaving test, which ensures that participants have mastered all necessary skills.
What does the lifesaving test include?
The course provides participants with practical training in lifesaving in pools and aquatic environments. The focus is on jumping from the pool edge or pier, swimming, diving and bringing a drowning manikin to the surface.
Participants also learn towing and landing people on the surface, as well as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on a training dummy.
