Norwegian authorities require that workers who will work in a pole can document practical and theoretical training. The course provides a basic theoretical and practical introduction to how to work safely in a pole. The employer is responsible for ensuring that the worker has the necessary training ("Regulations on the performance of work" Chapter 17). Certificates of competence are issued to participants to meet the authorities' requirements for documentation.

The following topics will be reviewed, among others:

  • Laws and regulations
  • Equipment selection
  • Control; daily and periodic
  • Storage and maintenance
  • Climbing technique
  • Relevant fall protection
  • Use of pole sling, support strap and pole shoe
  • Evacuation
  • Comrade rescue
  • Risk assessment
  • Self-inspection/assessment of the post

Target group:

Electrical, telecommunications and other personnel working on poles.

Duration:

7.5 hours. The course is held from 08.30 — 16.00.

Practical information:

The course certificate is valid for 12 months. GTM Kompetanse provides all necessary equipment for completing the course.

Requirements for prior knowledge:

Turned 18.
